What Columbia Gourmand Ate in March
Here's what Columbia Gourmand ate during their spring break!
Abby: Matzo Ball Ramen from Shalom Japan in Williamburg. “It was such a cool fusion of Japanese ramen with a classic chicken soup; the chicken was cooked in the char siu style, which I’d never had before!”
Evan: Sriracha Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffles from MIX Kitchen and Bar in Ithaca, NY. “It came with coconut cilantro sweet chili syrup and macadamia nut butter. Alongside, I had their ‘The Nutty Professor’ cocktail, made with Angel’s Envy Bourbon, local maple syrup, black walnut bitters, and a candied walnut rim.”
Ese: Strawberry Labneh Sumac cake from ByClio Bakery in Gowanus. “So tasty and aesthetically pleasing. Loved the interesting combination of flavours!!"
Aliya: Taiwan Pork Chop (Pork Chop Over Rice) “The meal was cheap (at $8), but that was not the best part! The pork and the pickled vegetables with rice were super delicious and flavorful.”
Meredith: Mushroom Pasta from Via Carota, West Village. “I was lucky enough to get a table at Via Carota for my birthday dinner and it lived up to its immaculate reputation. This mushroom pasta was a special on the menu and was a perfect dish for a snowy night.”
Chloe: "This is a paella I ate in Las Terrenas in the Dominican Republic! It had scallops, prawns, crawfish, and squid and was served with fried plantains, and a fresh vinaigrette salad."
